The terrorist act on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 may be the first of many as has been reported by many intelligence agencies.
Many reports from around the globe have described that a number of new attacks on America are in preparation.
Law enforcement officials say the suspect on NW 253 had more than 80 grams of a compound related to nitro-glycerin used by the military strapped to his body which he tried to ignite.
The FBI said PETN, or pentaerythritol, is the same plastic explosive used by Al-Qaeda operative Richard C. Reid in his
December 2001 attempt to destroy a U.S.-bound airliner by igniting a homemade bomb in his shoe.
The device used by both bombers is a binary explosive system as described in an “ATF Law Enforcement Guide to
Explosives Incident Reporting.” Two seemingly harmless materials once combined cause an explosion.

Tom – One of the telling (i.e., about the DOJ) aspects of this case is that the perpetrator has only been charged with attacking an aircraft. Where are the terrorism charges or attempted murder charges with multiple (one for evry passenger and and members of the crew)? This is another example of A.G. Eric Holder going soft on terrorists and thugs. Highlights of this can be seen going back to the Clinton administration when Holder recommended Clinton pardon convicted Puerto Rican terrorists, ignoring the intimidation and assault tactics of the Nation of Islam at polling places in the November election, transferring trials of Gitmo detainees to New York, etc.
One correction to my comment above. It was not the Nation of Islam. Rather it was the New Black Panthers.
