MEXICO HIPOCRITAS

by H. Thomas Hayden on April 30, 2010

Michelle Malkin had a great editorial on “How Mexico treats illegals” in her Creators Syndicate column. She wrote that illegal entry into Mexico is a felony punishable by two years in prison and visitors who do not have proper identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens.

There is much more in the hypocrisy of Mexico.

U.S. citizens in Mexico cannot own property within 50 kilometers of the coasts or within 100 kilometers of the border without having to go through unpredictable bureaucracy involving payoffs

Mexicans, and people of Mexican parentage, may become dual citizens of Mexico and the U.S. However, U.S. citizens who are NOT of Mexican descent are prohibited from becoming citizens of Mexico, unless they renounce USA citizenship. A U.S. citizen who is not of Mexican descent and not legally recognized as a Mexican citizen cannot legally vote in Mexico.

More: immigrants must show ability to contribute to national progress:  immigrants must prove they can provide for themselves and their family; foreigners can be disallowed residence if they “upset demographic balance;” foreigners can be immediately kicked out for misbehavior, criminal activity, or sickness; and, all law enforcement officers and the military are expected to enforce immigration law.

It is estimated that there are as many as 20 million Mexico-born Mexicans living in the U.S.
